Beliche is a perfect top & blouse for summer days. It is knitted seamlessly in the round from bottom to top with a chevron pattern along the body. Front and back are knitted separately with straps grafted together. Striped or plain version, 1/1 rib or scalloped edge of your choice. The armhole and neckline edges are picked up then worked in icord. The stitches of sleeves are picked up then worked in the round in St st with shorts rows and border with i-cord. The sleeves are picked up then knitted in the round with shorts rows.

Recommended ease: - 2 to +2 inches or - 5 to + 5 cm of ease. To pick your best size, measure your full bust and remove or add your desired ease, then pick the finished bust circumference closest to that number. It is of course possible to adapt and knit a size with more or less ease than recommended.

Sample is shown in size 3 with 1.5 inches or 4 cm of negative ease.

 

GAUGE: 25 sts x 28 rows for 4 x 4’’ or 10 x 10 cm in chevrons pattern with larger needles. One chevron pattern measure 1.5 inches or 4 cm.

 

YARN: this top is knitted with one strand of sport/light DK weight yarn.

One color version: approximately 450 (500 - 550) 640 (690 - 740) 815 (870 - 925) 1035 yards or 410 (460 - 500) 580 (630 - 680) 745 (795 - 845) 945 m.

 

Two tone color version: approximately 260 (290 - 320) 370 (400 - 430) 470 (505 - 535) 600 yards or 240 (270 - 290) 340 (370 - 395) 430 (460 - 490) 550 m for C1.

Approximately 190 (210 - 230) 270 (290 - 310) 345 (365 - 390) 435 yards or 170 (190 - 210) 240 (260 - 285) 315 (335 - 355) 395 m for C2.

NOTIONS: needles sizes 2.75 mm/US 2 (ribbing) 3 mm/US 2.5 (icord) and 3.5 mm/US 4 (body) 32 inches or 80 cm, tapestry needle, cable to hold live stitches and 18 (20 - 22) 24 (26 - 28) 30 (32 - 34) 36 stitches markers, a tape measure.

 

NOTES: the pattern is knitted in base linaé (95 % linen français, 5 % coton – 100g = 190m) from Natissea color écru for unicolor version and color Vermeil (C1) and Pêche (C2) for bicolor version.

 

Be careful because the vegetable fibers tend to relax. The choice of fiber will also affect the drape of your top. Silk, bamboo will have a beautiful, fluid drape. Cotton and linen will have less drape because they are fibers without elasticity.
